Sarkari naukri mein age limit ek major concern hai — bahut saare candidates sirf age bar hone ki wajah se apply nahi kar paate. Lekin government ne different categories ke liye age relaxation ka provision rakha hai. Is article mein hum samjhayenge ki kaunsi category ko kitni chhoot milti hai, kaise calculate hoti hai, aur kaunse exams mein kya rules hain.
Category-wise Age Relaxation — Central Government Rules
Central Government ke rules (DoPT guidelines ke anusaar) yeh hain — yeh rules UPSC, SSC, Railway sabhi central exams par applicable hain unless notification mein specifically kuch aur likha ho:
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation. Agar upper age limit 27 hai toh OBC ke liye 30 saal tak apply kar sakte hain.
- SC/ST: 5 years relaxation. Upper age limit 27 hai toh 32 saal tak apply kar sakte hain.
- PwBD (Person with Benchmark Disability): 10 years relaxation for General, 13 years for OBC, 15 years for SC/ST. Yeh sabse zyada relaxation hai.
- Ex-Servicemen: 5 years relaxation (after deducting military service period). Matlab agar 10 saal army mein rahe toh 10 saal minus hoke + 5 saal extra.
- Widows / Divorced Women: 5 years relaxation (up to 35 years for General, 38 for OBC, 40 for SC/ST). Yeh sirf first re-marriage tak valid hai.
- J&K Domicile (1980-1989): 5 years relaxation — yeh ab limited applicability mein hai.
- Central Government Employees: 5 years relaxation (up to 40 years for Group C posts). Yeh sirf departmental candidates ke liye hai.
SSC Exams — Age Rules
SSC ke different exams mein age limit alag hoti hai, lekin relaxation rules same hain (OBC +3, SC/ST +5, PwBD +10):
- SSC CGL: 18-27 years (for most posts). Kuch posts jaise Inspector mein 27, Tax Assistant mein 27, Statistical Investigator mein 26.
- SSC CHSL: 18-27 years. LDC/DEO ke liye.
- SSC MTS: 18-25 years. Multi Tasking Staff ke liye.
- SSC GD Constable: 18-23 years. CAPF mein GD Constable ke liye. Relaxation: OBC 26, SC/ST 28.
- SSC Steno: 18-27 years (Grade C), 18-30 years (Grade D).
- SSC JE: 18-27 years (for most). Junior Engineer posts ke liye.
UPSC Exams — Age Rules
UPSC ke exams mein age limit aur attempts dono ki limit hoti hai:
- Civil Services (IAS/IPS/IFS): 21-32 years. General: 6 attempts, OBC: 9 attempts (35 years tak), SC/ST: unlimited attempts (37 years tak).
- CDS (Combined Defence Services): 19-25 years for IMA, 19-22 for Air Force, 19-22 for Naval Academy. OBC/SC/ST relaxation applicable nahi hai CDS mein.
- NDA: 16.5-19.5 years. Koi category relaxation nahi.
- CAPF (AC): 20-25 years. OBC +3, SC/ST +5.
- IES/ISS: 21-30 years. OBC +3, SC/ST +5.
Railway Exams — Age Rules
Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) ke exams mein age rules:
- RRB NTPC (Graduate Level): 18-33 years for Level 2-6. Under-graduate level mein 18-30 years.
- RRB Group D: 18-33 years. OBC +3, SC/ST +5, PwBD +10.
- RRB ALP (Assistant Loco Pilot): 18-28 years. OBC 31, SC/ST 33.
- RRB JE: 18-33 years. Junior Engineer ke liye.
- RPF Constable: 18-25 years. OBC 28, SC/ST 30.
- Note: Railway mein age limit generally doosre departments se thodi zyada hoti hai — yeh ek advantage hai.
Age Kaise Calculate Hoti Hai — Crucial Date
Age calculation "crucial date" ke basis par hoti hai — yeh date notification mein clearly mention hoti hai. Usually yeh application ki last date hoti hai. Example: Agar notification mein crucial date 1st January 2026 hai aur aapki DOB 2nd January 1999 hai, toh aapki age 26 years 11 months 29 days mani jayegi (27 nahi).
SSC mein crucial date usually 1st January ya 1st August hoti hai (notification ke hisaab se). UPSC mein 1st August hoti hai. Railway mein application close hone ki date hoti hai.
Important: Age calculation mein 1 din bhi matter karta hai. Agar aap age limit se 1 din bhi zyada ho toh form accept nahi hoga. Isliye crucial date dhyan se check karo aur apni age accurately calculate karo before applying.
Multiple Category Relaxation Rules
Ek important sawaal: Agar koi OBC + PwBD hai toh kya dono relaxation milegi? Jawab hai haan — cumulative relaxation milti hai. OBC PwBD candidate ko 3 + 10 = 13 years relaxation milti hai. SC/ST PwBD ko 5 + 10 = 15 years.
Lekin kuch combinations mein cumulative relaxation nahi milti. Example: Ex-serviceman + OBC — isme zyada wali relaxation milegi (whichever is higher), dono add nahi hongi. Similarly, widow + OBC mein zyada wali milegi.
Central Government employee hone ka 5 years relaxation sirf departmental recruitment mein milta hai — open competition mein nahi. Isliye agar aap government employee ho aur outside exam de rahe ho toh yeh 5 years nahi milega — sirf category wali relaxation milegi.
